Robert E. Kerley

	Robert E. Kerley, 67, of DeSoto, passed away at 5:59 p.m. on June 25, 2000 at Herrin Hospital.
	Bob was a farmer and a retired coal miner.  He was a member of the Williamson County Farm Bureau and the United Mine Workers Local #1340.  He attended the United Pentecostal Church in DuQuoin.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing.
	Mr. Kerley was born June 13, 1933 at Herrin, the son of Ralph  and Thelma (Daum) Kerley.  He married Eva Jean Jeralds and she preceded him in death on March 9, 1984.  He then married LaVonna McKinnies on November 20, 1991 at Paducah, KY.
	He is survived by his wife, LaVonna Kerley of DeSoto; six sons, and Kerley of DeSoto, Richard and Barbara Kerley of Carterville, Ronald and Stephani Kerley of Herrin, Paul and Peggy Kerley of DeSoto, Brian and Pam Kerley of DeSoto and Charles Kerley of Atlanta, GA; four step-sons,  Allen and Angela Ford, of DuQuoin, Tim and Missy Ford of DuQuoin, Shaun and Carrie Ford of Pinckneyville and Jonathon and Jamie Ford of DuQuoin; a step-daughter, Wendetta and John Tilley of DuQuoin; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Eva Jean and one brother.
	Funeral services were Thursday, June 29, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Riggin-Pillatsch Funeral Home in Carterville with Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.  
	Friends were able to call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Riggin-Pillatsch Funeral Home.
